The Kramers equation simulation algorithm: I. Operator analysis
Using an operatorial formalism, we study the Kramers equation and its applications to numerical simulations. We obtain classes of algorithms which may be made precise at every desired order in the time step ǫ and with a set of free parameters which can be used to reduce autocorrelations. We show that it is possible to use a global Metropolis test to restore Detailed Balance. PACS numbers: 11.15...
متن کاملThe Kramers equation simulation algorithm: II. An application to the Gross-Neveu model
We continue the investigation on the applications of the Kramers equation to the numerical simulation of field theoretic models. In a previous paper we have described the theory and proposed various algorithms. Here, we compare the simplest of them with the Hybrid Monte Carlo algorithm studying the two-dimensional lattice Gross-Neveu model. We used a Symanzik improved action with dynamical Wils...
متن کاملKramers Equation Algorithm with Kogut-Susskind Fermions on Lattice
We compare the performance of the Kramers Equation Monte Carlo (KMC) Algorithm with that of the Hybrid Monte Carlo (HMC) algorithm for numerical simulations with dynamical Kogut-Susskind fermions. Using the lattice Gross-Neveu model in 2 space-time dimensions, we calculate the integrated autocorrelation time of different observables at a number of couplings in the scaling region on 162 and 322 ...
متن کاملSemiclassical Analysis for the Kramers–Fokker–Planck Equation
In certain applications one is interested in the long-time behavior of systems described by a linear partial differential equation. For example, in kinetic equations one studies the decay to equilibrium of various linear and nonlinear systems. For the Kramers–Fokker–Planck equation, which will be studied here, exponential decay was shown in Talay (1999) and an explicit rate was given in Hérau a...
متن کاملMagneto-optical Kramers-Kronig analysis.
We describe a simple magneto-optical experiment and introduce a magneto-optical Kramers-Kronig analysis (MOKKA) that together allow extracting the complex dielectric function for left- and right-handed circular polarizations in a broad range of frequencies without actually generating circularly polarized light. The experiment consists of measuring reflectivity and Kerr rotation, or alternativel...
